TYPES OF SESSIONS
WEEKLY TUTORING
-
One-on-one session
-
One or more times per week at a set time
-
Generally 1 hour in length (can be longer or shorter if needed)
Tutoring on a regular basis (at least once per week) is the most effective for sustained progress and long-term results. Your child will be scheduled for a one-on-one tutoring session at a set time each week. Many students choose to come more than once per week (such as Tuesdays and Thursdays). Each session is generally 1 hour in length, but can be scheduled for different amounts of time depending on the student's needs.
AS-NEEDED TUTORING
-
One-on-one session
-
As-needed basis, as many times as desired
-
Generally 1-2 hours in length
As-needed tutoring is designed for those who may not need long-term assistance. It can help students prepare for a test (such as the ACT), get through a rough patch, or maintain skills over the summer. Rather than being scheduled at a recurring time each week, students meet with tutors for one-on-one sessions only when they need the extra help.
